This month is packed to the brim with exciting events to attend or compete in.  If you are in the California area, it doesn’t get any better than the Hollywood Dancesport Championships.  Come see Mary Murphy at her best and be part of the “California dream” dancesport competition experience.  They are giving away some a-w-e-s-o-m-e prizes!!

For those of you on the east coast, the Kings Ball in New Jersey guarantees to keep its royal legacy alive in its usual fantastic manner of heated competition!

The dance competition we at Fordney Foundation have been waiting for is the Ohio Star Ball!  As you know, we look forward every year to being at this event along with Sam Sodano and Bill Sparks to present the grand prizes to all the winners of the categories we represent at this thrilling dancesport competition and to watch the east coast versus west coast team match.

One of the great things about the Ohio Star Ball is that the Fordney Foundation’s sponsored Junior and Youth participants get to see and be among dancers striving for professional status, achieving their goals and becoming top 10 winners. This is the competition where the Fordney Foundation shines.  We give cash awards to winners.  We are the first organization to bring Junior and Youth Dance Series’ to nationwide dance competitions for a full 12 months of competitions.  Our Director, Marilyn Fordney of Fordney Foundation and our Co-Director, Alex Havasi, will personally congratulate you when you win. You will see how an event like the Ohio Star Ball creates a huge impression on its participants that is long remembered and plays a big part in young ballroom dancers’ careers.  Ohio Star ball is truly a great competition to be part of. We will see you there!

This year at the Ohio Star Ball, we get to be part of a special incentive competition, this will be our first year, Fordney Foundation will feature “The Best of the Best” Dancesport Challenge finale.   This will be “the” event that produces the ultimate winner of “The Best of the Best.” Currently, all our represented events are hosts to “The Best of the Best” Fordney challenge. Categories represented are PT1, PT2, JR1, JR2 and YA. It looks like a new category has been added: Elementary School to one of the comps we recently read about, so “yay,” it keeps on getting better. Because the “Best of the Best” is such a new competition opportunity, each competition in the future may have its own type of award that they give to the winning young couple. It could be a trophy, plaque or voucher.  Nevertheless, we will be announcing our first winners of “The Best of the Best” and we are very excited about it.

Good luck to everybody who is competing in the November events,
